  I. Objective:


To improve the Quality of public service provided by Horticulture Department through proper ACCOUNTABILITY & TRANSPARENCY.


A. HORTICULTURE ACTIVITIES/ PROGRAMMES:


  II. Services provided to the Citizens / Farmers/ Processors/ Exporters:
   
  • Extend technical services on package of practices in cultivation of various Horticulture crops.
  • Organising various ON FARM/OFF FARM Training Programs to the Progressive farmers.
  • Training and capacity building.
  • Providing financial assistance to the farmers under different developmental activities with government funding.
  • Conduct demonstration of new technologies in the farms.
  • Water and Leaf analysis for integrated nutrient management.
  • Production and supply of genuine plant material to farmers.
  • Promotion of Organic farming, INM & IPM.
  • Garden course to farmers and gardeners course for malies.
  • Facilitating for formation of Horticulture grower’s associations/ societies.
  • Encouraging setting up of Green Houses/ Poly Houses for production of high value flower crops/ vegetables in off-season.
  • Valuation of Horticultural crops for payment of compensation by revenue authorities during land acquisitions for public purposes.
    Extending immediate technical remedial measures for revival of Horticulture crops during natural calamities besides assessing the damage, reporting to the Government for sanctioning of relief.
    Issue of Phyto Sanitary Certificate for export of Horticulture produce.
  • Facilitating setting up of infrastructural facilities like pre-cooling, cold storage, pack houses, processing units etc.,
  • Forwarding and recommending the proposals for financial assistance to the Central agencies like APEDA, NHB, MFPI etc.,
  • Facilitating exports of specified Horticultural produce from Agri Export Zones.
  • Administering Andhra Pradesh Oil palm (Regulation of production and processing) Act 1993 to protect interest of growers.
  • Encourage farmers for growing market driven horticultural crops in compact blocks.
  • Encourage setting up of market yards, Horti. Hubs, etc. under private public partnership.
   

B. ANDHRA PRADESH MICROIRRIGATION PROJECT



A.P Micro Irrigation Project :
  • Steps to be followed to avail the benefits under the programme:
    • Eligible farmers may approach the Village Secretary or Mandal Agricultural Officer, Horticulture Officer, Asst. Director of Horticulture or PD, DWMA.
    • The prescribed application form shall be attested by the Panchayat Secretary and submitted in the O/o. P.D., DWMA with all particulars.
    • APMIP provides 70% subsidy subject to the maximum ceiling of Rs. 50,000 per family. For the remaining amount farmer can avail bank loan subject to his eligibility, or bring his own contribution.
  • Insurance coverage to MI systems
    • Insurance coverage to MI systems has been provided under this project with 0.25% of the system cost as premium by United India Insurance company and Oriental Insurance company
  • Services provided to the farmers
    • Encouraging the farmers for taking up micro irrigation in horticulture crops, sugarcane and agriculture field crops.
    • Arrange awareness programmes on Micro Irrigation system in co-ordination with M.I. companies.
    • Awareness programmes on maintenance of M.I. systems and fertigtion methods.

   installation.
