ANNUAL ACTION PLAN 2007-08

Scheme wise interventions / components and assistance

In view of the growing commercial importance, and consequential addition of area under Horticulture crops every year, yield estimation surveys are conducted on important fruits & Vegetables. Directorate of Economics and Statistics is conducting crops cutting experiments for 12 crops i.e. Coconut, Lemon, Guava, Batavia, Banana, Onion, Tomato, Bhendi, Brinjal, Turmeric, Mango, Cashew nut on 50:50 basis (Department 50%, DES 50%)

All the Asst. Directors of Horticulture of the districts are requested to conduct crop-cutting experiments allotted by CPO and ensure dispatch of forms/ Schedules of crop cutting experiments to Chief Planning Officer of the district with in the stipulated time. Avoid delay in furnishing the pending forms/ schedules by ADHs / H.O’s to CPO. If the schedules of crop cutting experiments are not furnished in time, the standard error of the productivity estimates will be very high which ultimately affects the GSDP (Gross state domestic Product) contribution from Horticulture sector. Further the Hon’ble C.M. is giving top priority to GSDP and reviewing frequently.

The ADH’s should also review the progress of crop cutting experiments in the fortnight meetings conducted by ADH’s with Horticulture officers regularly. The officials of statistics department in the district may also be invited for the meeting to discuss on pending crop cutting experiments. The Asst. Directors of Horticulture at district level and Horticulture Officers at mandal level should attend monthly reconciliation meetings conducted by Chief planning officer and mandal revenue officers to reconcile the area figures under Horticulture crops without fail.
The following Districts are allotted for Crop Cutting Experiments for various crops.
