The trees are headed back severrely every year leaving about 2 buds on each one
year leaving about 2 buds on each one year shoot. Shoots which have borne fruit are lightly headed
back after harvesting. In the absence of adequate pruning, the shoot moves away from the trunk every
year. This can be remedied by shorting the main branches to a stump in
winter.
