In the Government Order 1st read
above, orders were issued sanctioning Andhra Pradesh
Micro Irrigation Project and laying down guidelines
for implementation of the project.
In the Government Orders 2nd and 3rd read above, orders
were issued short listing seven Micro Irrigation Companies
for participation in Andhra Pradesh Micro Irrigation
Project.
After reviewing the implementation of the Andhra Pradesh
Micro Irrigation Project, orders were issued in the
reference 4th read above conveying theat not more
that 25% of the area will be covered under sprinkler
systems at the state level.
While finalizing the suppliers for Micro Irrigation
systems, initially, one of the important conditions
was that they should manufacturing facility for In
line drip system. As a result only those companies
who had this facility were included in the approved
panel of suppliers. But only about 1.6 percent area
was covered under Inline drip system during the year
2003-2004.
Therefore it has been decided to modify the essential
criteria and short-list Micro Irrigation Companies
having manufacturing facility for On line drip systems
also for installation of drip systems under Andhra
Pradesh Micro Irrigation Project. It is also decided
to have separate panics of suppliers for sprinkler
system and drip system.
The Irrigation Association of Andhra Pradesh represented
to Government to Include Andhra Pradesh based SSI
units also for supply of Sprinkler systems under Andhra
Pradesh Micro Irrigation Project in view of the fact
that polythene pipes, which are the major components
of the sprinkler system, are reserved for exclusive
purchase from SSI Units as perG.O.Ms.437, Industries
and Commerce (SSI) Department, dated 5-9-1983. It
was also brought to the notice of the Government that
out of seven Micro Irrigation Companies short-listed
for supply of Micro Irrigation systems, including
sprinklers, only four companies had manufacturing
facilities for sprinklers and others were outsourcing.
Hence, it has been decided to keep only those
four companies in the panel, in addition to the eligible
Andhra Pradesh based SSI Units for supply of sprinkler
system under the Andhra Pradesh Micro Irrigation Project.
Accordingly, Government, after careful examination
of the matter, and taking into consideration the expression
of interests recommendations of the Inspection Team
and Standing Committee, Issue the following orders.
The following Companies manufacturing drip irrigation
systems are approved for supply of drip irrigation
equipment, design & installation, agronomic &
maintenance support etc., under Andhra Pradesh Micro
Irrigation Project.

| The
companies approved above shall enter into Memorandum
of Understanding with authorized agencies of the Government
for implementing the project and the Commissioner of
Horticulture, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad shall take necessary
action accordingly duly incorporating all necessary
conditions and guidelines in the Memorandum of Understanding.
