ORDER
1.
In the reference
read above, orders have issued sanctioning A.P. Micro Irrigation
Project providing 50% subsidy on the cost of Micro Irrigation system
to the farmers for certain specified crops, subject to a monetary
ceiling of Rs. 50,000/- per farmer. The above orders also contain
detailed guidelines for the implementation of the Project. The guidelines
were partially modified through G.O.Ms.No. 577, A & C (Horti.)
Dept., dt. 03-07-2003 and G.O.Ms.No.6, A & C (Horti.) Dept.,
dt. 05.01.2004.

After reviewing
the implementation of the Project the Government have decided to
modify the scope of the Project and the guidelines, keeping in view
the interests of the farmers in rain shadow areas of the State and
also the national objective of achieving energy security through
promotion of Bio-diesel Plantation.
Accordingly, Government after careful examination, order the following
modifications to the guidelines under the scheme:-
a)
Bio-diesel Plantation,
such as Jatropha Curcas etc, will also be eligible for subsidy under
the project. 90% subsidy on the cost of Micro Irrigation System
will be given Bio-diesel Plantation
in the notified Rain Shadow Areas
b)
A.P.M.I.P. as
a whole, will continue to be implemented through Horticulture Department,
Rain Shadow Area Development Department. The detailed operational
guidelines regarding Bio-diesel Plantation
in rain Shadow Areas shall be issued by R.S.A.D. Department separately.
c)
50% subsidy
will continue in the rest of the areas and for other specified crops
under A.P.M.I.P.
d)
For Ananthapur
District additional subsidy of 16%, making it 66% as ordered in
G.O.Rt.No.760, dated 8.9.2003, will continue.
e)
In the first
year of the Project, disproportionately large area has been covered
under Sprinkler system. It has therefore been decided that at the
State level not more that 25% of the area will be covered under
the sprinkler system. District-wise targets under sprinkler system,
along with suitable guidelines, will be communicated separately,
talking into consideration cropping pattern and other relevant factors.
f)
The modalities
for earmarking funds for Bio-diesel Plantations in the Rain Shadow
Areas under A.P.M.I.P. will be decided by the High Level Committee
keeping in view all relevant factors.
3.
All other conditions
and guidelines laid down earlier will continue to be applied under
the scheme.
