In Andhra Pradesh the following 11 districts have been identified for oil palm cultivation.

Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna,
Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore, Chitoor and Khammam.

As per the guidelines of the Technology Mission on Oil seeds & Pulses the Scheme for Oil Palm development programme will be implemented. The following assistances are being provided to the farmers.

1. Plant Material Subsidy

75% of the plant material not exceeding Rs.7500/- per Ha. The maximum limit is 6 Ha per beneficiary

2. Cultivation Subsidy

50% subsidy not exceeding Rs.15, 000/-per Ha. Over a period of 4 years. The maximum limit is 6 Ha per beneficiary

3. Micro Irrigation

50% on the plant material not Exceeding Rs.12, 000/- per Ha. The maximum limit 4 Ha per beneficiary as per the APMIP norms, the subsidy can avail in APMIP also.

4. Inter crops

50% on the plant material cost for the crops Like Cocoa, Pepper etc, taken as inter crop in Oil Palm garden.

5. Trainings

The National Research center For Oil Palm Was established at Pedavegi, West Godavari dist by the GOI. The farmers will be trained at NCR (OP) Pedavegi on latest package of practices in Oil Palm Cultivation. Training will be conducted at Oil Palm Seed Garden, Rajahmundry.

6. Harvesting Sickles 50% Assistance not exceeding Rs750/- per unit, one unit per beneficiary.

 

Two Oil Palm Seed garden were established in state one in department of Horticulture and another in private sector. The Seeds will be produced at seed garden under the Technical guidance of NCR (OP) Pedavegi and the Seed/ Sprouts will be supplied to Oil Palm companies.


Government will fix the Oil Palm Fresh Bunches Price once in a quarter based on the recommendation of the price fixation committee. The FFB Price for the quarter period of 1-8-2007 to 31-10-2007is fixed as Rs.5,002/- per M.T. The FFBs will be purchased by the companies from the farmers at the collection centers of their factory zone as per the rate fixed by the Government.
