- Andhra Pradesh Micro Irrigation Project was launched on 3rd
November 2003 with an objective to bring 2.48 lakh
Ha area under Micro irrigation project with an outlay
of Rs.1176 crores, with 588 crores as Government
subsidy and balance contribution from NABARD as
a loan..
- Out of 2.48 lakh Ha, 1.41 lakh Ha covered by Horticulture
sector and the remaining sectors like Agriculture,
Sericulture and Sugarcane contribute to the rest
of the area target coverage.
- Since inception of the project till March 2006 a total area
of 166203 Ha was covered by Micro irrigation involving
80413 Ha under Drip by covering Horticulture plantation.
