Sanitary
and Phyto sanitary certification is invariable part
of export consignment. In Andhra Pradesh there are 4
authorities designated under law for issuance of necessary
certificate. The residue testing laboratories and other
infrastructure fecilities in public sector are not available
in the state.
Phyto – Sanitary Certificate : -
The export certification and issuance of phyto sanitary
certificate (PSC) is undertaken in pursuance to the
international plant protection convention (IPPC) 1951
of FAO. The purpose of IPPC is to ensure common and
effective action to prevent the introduction and spread
of pests and diseases of plant materials and to promote
measures in their control, considering the Agriculture
export potential from Andhra Pradesh, Govt. of India
has been notified state officers as a PSC issuing
authorities for export of Agriculture / Horticulture
commodities to Foreign countries.
The following fecilities are required for each phyto
sanitary certificate issuing authorities with an outlay
of Rs. 9.00 lakhs per each PSC unit.
