Pradesh is one of the leading state in the country for
Horticulture development with the increasing area under
Horticulture crops, the need for trained / semi-trained
manpower is growing. Also there is need to guide farmers
about latest knowledge in the field of Horticulture.
The Govt. of India has sanctioned Agriculture export
zones for Grape, Mango and Gherkins. Thus there is need
to give focus on export production. Hence there is essential
to impart training to the departmental staff / officers.
Human resource Development through
trainings and demonstrations will be an integral part
of the State Mission under this programme, training
of the farmers, field level worker and officers will
be taken up. Programme for providing appropriate training
to the farmers for the adoption of latest technologies
and training systems will be taken up.

Andhra
Pradesh Horticulture training Institute: -
It is situated in the public garden, Hyderabad. Presently
it is covering entire state (22 districts) for imparting
training to the farmer and officer. But some of the
districts like Coastal Andhra i.e., Srikakulam, West
Godavari and Rayalaseema region like Kadapa and Ananthapur
are far away i.e., 500 to 700 Kms from Hyderabad.
Most of the farmers are reluctant to attend training
classes at Hyderabad because they loose lot of time
during journey period, due to which their farm operations
are getting affected. Hence actual field level farmer
are willing to attend thetrainings at Hyderabad. Therefore
it is proposed to establish two (20) regional Horticulture
training Institutes are proposed for the better convenience
of the farmer and departmental officer.
2. Regional Horticulture Training Institute
at Srikakulam: -
It will cover (4) four districts Viz , Srikakulam,
West Godavari, Guntur and Prakasham in imparting training
programmes to 600 farmers, 46 officers and 288 gardners.
Under this component, an amount of Rs.40.00 lakhs
is proposed for the following items: -

3. Regional Horticulture Training Institute at Kadapa:
-
This training centre is proposed
to establish in the centre place of Rayalaseema region
and covers (3) Three districts.
Total outlay is proposed an amount of Rs. 57.53 lakhs
it includes the construction of training centre with
an outlay of Rs.40.00 lakhs as mentioned above.
